Hope In A Bag - Year long care kits for the homeless and/or temporarily displaced.
My name is Sonia Naidu and 'Hope in a Bag' is my project for the Girl Scout Gold Award.
The people who are homeless and/or temporarily displaced are at a much greater risk of physical illnesses due to a lack of essential supplies. Many of these items, such as basic hygiene products, dental hygiene supplies, skincare products and first aid kits, are vital for preventing illnesses and infections but are often unavailable to them. Seasonal changes add further difficulties, as they require different resources to cope with extreme weather conditions.
My project 'Hope in a Bag' seeks to address these needs by creating care kits that provide essential supplies and year-round comfort for the homeless individuals.
Each kit will include:
Basic hygiene items, Dental care supplies,Skincare items, Feminine Hygiene, First aid essentials, Seasonal items and a message of hope.
The kits will be assembled in bags made with upcycled tshirts.
Gently used/new adult tshirts would be greatly appreciated. Donations of supplies/kits/tshirts are requested. Bulk kits are available on amazon for easy ordering.
We can pick up donations within the DFW area and if you would like to ship them to my home, my address is 420 W Chapel Downs Dr, Southlake, TX 76092.
